Whether referring to the history of Mercur or oleochemicals in general – it all starts with vegetable oil. Vegetable oil is the basis for all oleochemical products. Whether glycerin, fatty acids, or lecithin – the oil is the source.
For Mercur, the journey started with wood oil (also called tung oil). We were one of the first to introduce this oil in European industry. Today, this product is of particularly high importance in the field of natural or printing colors.
This forms the basis on which Mercur has expanded its portfolio of vegetable oils for any application.
